WHISKY AN' A' THAT V

Saturday 17th May 2008

Tickets are now on sale for Whisky An' A' That V, Ayrshire's biggest whisky festival which will be held on Saturday 17th May 2008, at Ayr Town Hall, situated next to our popular and busy store in the Sandgate.

This years festival is our biggest yet with 18 major whisky companies exhibiting and over 100 whiskies on show, including Limited Edition and rare hard to find bottling's along with new releases, you will be spoiled for which whiskies you would like to sample.

Also attending on the day will be celebrity faces and guests from the whisky world, with various talks and displays being held in the whisky experience area.

Doors to the event open at 1pm and close at 6pm

Your ticket entitles you to:

All day access to the event, show guide, Robbie's Drams nosing glass and malt miniature, food and bottled water, entry into various prize draws held throughout the day. Six sampling vouchers, and a discount voucher.

A full programme of entertainment is provided which will include The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra, Aileen Robertson's Highland Dancers, pipers, poetry, song and much more. (see below for full entertainment timetable.)

Inver House Masterclass
 

A separate event at this year’s festival is a Whisky Masterclass from Inver House. Voted 2008 Distillers of the year by The Whisky Magazine.

Master blender Stuart Harvey will talk you through the impressive Balblair and Old Pulteney range, before letting you sample these award winning single malts.

Tickets for this event are £8 per person and with only 30 places available, tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Master of Malt, whisky celebrity and author, John Lamond will be opening this years festival and will also be signing copies of his latest whisky book The Malt Whisky File(4th edition) which he co-wrote with Robin Tucek and is the must have book for whisky lovers and novices alike.

This book will be available to buy at the Robbie's Drams shop stall at £12.99

Also appearing at the festival is Martin Green, who is the head whisky auctioneer at McTear's in Glasgow. Martin will be signing copies of his book, Collecting Malt Whisky, which is the must have reference book for the collector.
